This is what happened to a city manager of a small southwest Florida town after the mayor came to know that his wife was an adult film actress. Scott Janke was fired when the mayor called an emergency meeting after he heard about his spouse and a 5-0 no cause clause was enough to cancel the contract of Janke. In lieu of this he will be paid a six month severance package which works out to $50,000 along with health benefits.
This is what Fort Myers Beach Mayor Larry Kiker had to say after firing Scott Janke from his job:
What we were addressing was a situation where we weren't going to be able to govern the town with all the disruption and interruption.
This action seems to have backfired already and Kiker has already started receiving threatening mails from people. I just wonder how his wife’s profession affects his job at any point of time. Seems the mayor will have to change his mindset of face the wrath of the society.
