Recession is at its peak and French travel agencies in order to woo travelers have introduced Sunshine Insurance so that sunshine doesn’t play spoilsport during your vacation. Sunshine insurance launched by Pierre et Vacances and FranceLoc enables holiday seekers to claim a part of the cost of their trip in case they suffer four days of rain in a week.
The holiday group said in a statement:
Aon France allows Pierre & Vacances to propose its clients with automatic reimbursement for part of their stay...if weather conditions don't meet expectations
Satellite photos from French weather bureau will be used for calculating the reimbursements. Compensation up to $556 will be available and holidaying people will be informed by email or text message if they are liable to receive compensation and a cheque would be mailed to them within a few days after they reach back home. Certainly a weird insurance but something has to be done to keep the cash registers ringing.
